 ly Church. We have arrived at the Feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is called 
 the birthday of the Church because it marks the outpouring of the Holy Spi
 rit on the apostles\, empowering them to begin the mission of spreading th
 e Gospel.\nPentecost (also called Whit Sunday\, Whitsunday or Whitsun) is 
 one of the Great feasts in the Eastern Orthodox Church\, a Solemnity in th
 e Roman Rite of the Catholic Church\, a Festival in the Lutheran Churches\
 , and a Principal Feast in the Anglican Communion.\nThere is a parallel Je
 wish holiday\, Shavu`ot\, which falls 50 days after Passover. Shavu’ot i
 s sometimes called the Festival of Weeks\, referring to the seven weeks si
 nce Passover. Originally a harvest feast\, Shavu`ot now commemorates the s
 ealing of the Covenant on Mount Sinai\, when the Lord revealed the Torah t
 o Moses. Every year\, the Jewish people renew their acceptance of the gift
  of the Torah on this feast.\nWe are very happy to welcome the Reverend Su
