At 10 am on Saturday, November 19 in the hall at St. Mark’s Church, 138 Hoylake Road W., the St. Mark’s Church Men’s Group will host a talk by Nestor Gayowsky on the latest developments in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Nestor was the Canadian Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine in 1991, when Ukraine gained its independence upon the collapse of the USSR. A long-time resident of Qualicum Beach, Nestor has a deeply informed understanding of the countries involved, and of the situation. With proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian, Nestor has access to information sources unavailable to most of us.
The talk will be part of the St. Mark’s fundraising campaign for the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund’s Ukraine initiative, for which St. Mark’s has already raised over $11,000.
