The first Messy Church at St. Mark's woke up the building with the sound of children enjoying the love of Jesus in their lives.  Built on a theme of Abraham and Sarah, it had the children doing crafts about journeys and stars along with their parents and several others who showed up.  We then sang our way into the church where the children explored the whole church looking for stars that Rev. Elizabeth had hidden.  We sang the story of Abraham and Sarah in a setting by Dave Klinger as well as a calypso setting of the Lord's Prayer.  The Rev. Elizabeth gave a short talk about the promise and how it means that God is with us and loves us.  We had an abbreviated communion service and moved to the Parish Hall for supper.  After a great meal of salad, buns, oranges, pasta and dessert everyone went home--many of them already talking about next month.

It was a real blessing experiencing the love of Jesus through the eyes of those young people.
